While working on this project, I thought about how I could carry out the meaning of Promise Park through Gwangju (Biennale) with a serious mind, not just as the subject of the work. The process itself became more precious. I hope to recall the memories of places of historical conflict, bring awareness of conflict and reconciliation to the present, evoke the meaning and memories that have changed in history, recognize the history of the world together, and form a solidarity of reflection.
We were able to realize this ambition and start conversations by gathering around the carpet.
