Moon Kyungwon & Jeon Joonho
TOKYO ATLAS International Art Exhibition
Sat. 10 October - Sun. 20 December, 2026

MOON Kyungwon & JEON Joon present 𝘗𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘮 𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯 (2024–2025) in 𝘛𝘖𝘒𝘠𝘖 𝘈𝘛𝘓𝘈𝘚, on view through December 20 in Tokyo, Japan. Bringing together artists from around the world, the exhibition explores Tokyo’s history as a crossroad of international cultural exchange, encourages awareness of diverse viewpoints, invites reflection on contemporary issues, and sparks curiosity about the future. Set along Tokyo’s waterfront, where various cultural currents have long converged, the exhibition unfolds across several sites, including Daiba Park, a historical reminder of Japan’s opening to the world during the late Edo period, and Aomi Minami Port Park, which overlooks the city’s international maritime hub. The 𝘈𝘛𝘓𝘈𝘚 in the title refers both to Atlas, the mythological figure who upholds the world, and to an atlas as a book of maps.

MOON & JEON present a series of works centered on 𝘗𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘮 𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯 in an underground parking lot within Aomi Minami Port Park. Set in a future where spring and autumn have disappeared, 𝘗𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘮 𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯 unfolds through a speculative narrative in which an unknown life-form arrives on Earth after humanity’s extinction, tracing the remnants of human civilization and the world of plants. As the distinctions between seasons become increasingly blurred in our own time, the work takes on an unsettling sense of immediacy. Rather than depicting a distant dystopian future, the duo invites reflection on the consequences of climate change, the ecological crises confronting humanity, and the uncertain futures that lie ahead.
