As a follow-up to the re,ection on the social function and role of art, which was contemplated over in the NEWS FROM NOWHERE project, sociologist JOE Jeonghwan, aesthetician LIM Shan, and artist duo MOON Kyungwon & JEON Joonho gathered to hold a roundtable discussion on the notion that art is designed to transform the human consciousness.
The four re,ected upon art and society from various perspectives presented by the NEWS FROM NOWHERE project and the Voice of Metanoia – Two Perspectives, currently on exhibit at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea. The roundtable discussion, which was held across two sessions at the exhibition hall of the National Museum of Contemporary Art, provided a meaningful experience
as participants shared their thoughts and opinions with one another, therefore allowing a convergence of diverse perspectives.

〈NEWS FROM NOWHERE (미지에서 온 소식)〉 프로젝트에서 논의 되었던 예술에 대한 사회적 기능과 역할에 대한 성찰이란 주제의 다음 걸음으로 ‘예술은 인간 인식의 변화를 위한 과정의 기획’ 이란 내용으로 인문사회학자 조정환 선생님, 미학자 임산, 그리고 작가들과의 대담이 진행되었다.
이들은 〈NEWS FROM NOWHERE〉 프로젝트와 이번 국립 현대 미술관에서 열리고 있는 공동의 진술- 두 개의 시선에 대한 작업을 통해 본 예술과 사회 그리고 우리의 모습을 다양한 시각으로 토론하였다. 또한 그 사이 2 회에 걸쳐 선행된 대담을 토대로 국립현대미술관의 작업 현장에서 그 사이 바라 본 서로의 또 다른 생각과 의견을 나누며 다양한 시각이 교차되는 흥미롭고 의미 있는 시간을 마련하였다.
