The filming of AVYKATA, which will be newly introduced through 2 channels at the Sullivan Galleries of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago this upcoming September, took place from March 15th to 17th. AVYKATA, a follow-up to El Fin del Mundo, the main film of the NEWS FROM NOWHERE project, went through its first filming session last September, and this second session took place for the psychological description and the inner world of the protagonist.
Lee Jung-jae, who starred as the male protagonist of El Fin del Mundo, once again made an appearance in the film, this time as a detective dispatched from the future. The second session of the filming, including special appearance by five mime artists centered on the choreography and performance by Yu Jin-gyu, dancers from the National Dance Company of Korea including Kim Mi-ae and Jang Yun-na performing choreography by Ahn Sung-soo, took place under the support by the National Theater of Korea. Staff for the filming included Producer Cho Jin-ah, On-site Producer Park Joon-ho, Director of Photography Park Jong-chul (1st session) and Kim Woo-hyung (2nd session), Director of Music Dalparan and Jang Young-gyu, Editing and CG Yoon Jae-hoon (Alice FX), Assistant Director Lee Yang-jun (1st session) and Kim Sung-eun (2nd session) and Art Director Choi Soo-young (1st session) and Choi Hee-jung (2nd session).
Synopsis
After, one woman, who was dispatched to the archive at the border, came back, Tempus went through a great number of changes. What she experienced at the archive is unknown, but from that point on, she lived a life totally different from her life before. Even within the strict restrictions, she was dignified, and at times, rejected what she had been ordered to do. Also, she drew strange- looking symbols and made objects with unknown uses. But what was even stranger was that the citizens of Tempus came to adore the woman who would habitually act in such a peculiar way. The people would even impart meaning to her signs and symbols. They worshipped her, looking up to her as a messenger delivering messages from a mysterious place.
Tempus was thrown into confusion, and eventually the woman was banished. This led to others breaking away from the system just as she had. Tempus, which had been an-all-but- impenetrable fortress, was slowly collapsing. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, the leaders of Tempus decided to take a risk in order to grasp the facts behind the unproductive acts that had begun with those of the woman. They decided to make use of the time machine that they had been secretly developing as a means to travel back in time before the apocalypse and create a system in which Tempus would have supreme power. Although the machine was only at an experimental stage, the Tempus leaders did not hesitate to use it. They believed that if the roots of such problems could be identified, then such problems could be completely removed. Tempus chose a man who was rational and levelheaded enough for the grave mission to restore its former grand status.

순수존재 (AVYAKTA) 촬영
오는 9월 시카고 아트 인스티튜트의 설리번 갤러리에서 새롭게 2개의 채널로 소개될 순수존재 (AVYKATA)의 촬영이 3월 15에서 17일 진행되었다. 이 영상 작업은 NEWS FROM NOWHERE 프로젝트의 메인 필름 의 후속 영상으로서 1차로 지난해 9월 촬영이 진행되었고, 이 번에 주인공의 심리 묘사와 내면 세계를 담는 제 2차 촬영이 이루어졌다.
미래에서 파견된 수사관 역으로는 지난 필름, 세상의 저 편에서 남자 주인공으로 나온 이정재씨가 출연했다. 2차 촬영은 마임이스트 유진규 선생님의 안무와 퍼포먼스를 중심으로 5인의 마임이스트, 그리고 안성수 선생님의 안무로 진행된 김미애, 장윤아의 현대무용과 국립 무용단원의 특별 출연으로 국립극장의 후원아래 진행되었다. 프로듀서 조진아, 현장 프로듀서 박준호, 촬영감독은 김우형(2차), 박종철(1차), 음악은 달파란, 장영규, 편집 및 CG 윤재훈(앨리스 FX), 조감독 김성은(2차), 이양준(1차), 미술 진행 최희정(2차) 최수영(1차) 등이 맡았다.
시놉시스
변방의 아카이브에 파견됐던 한 여인이 돌아온 후, 템퍼스는 많은 변화를 겪게 된다. 무슨 일을 겪었는지 모르지만 그녀는 이전과 다른 삶을 살았다. 엄격한 통제 속에서도 당당했으며 명령받은 일을 거부하기도 했다. 또 이상한 기호를 그리거나, 용도를 알 수 없는 물건들을 만들었다고 한다. 더욱 이상한 일은 템퍼스 시민들이 그런 이상한 행동을 일삼는 그녀를 사랑하게 됐다는 것이다. 사람들은 그녀가 만든 알 수 없는 기호와 상징들을 보고 거기에 의미를 부여하기 시작했다. 마치 미지의 곳에서 오는 메시지를 전하는 메신저로 여기고 그녀를 숭배했다.
당황한 템퍼스는 결국 그녀를 추방하고 말았다. 그러나 이 일은 더 많은 사람들이 그녀를 따라 체제에서 이탈하는 불씨를 제공했다. 철옹성처럼 단단했던 템퍼스는 서서히 무너지고 있었다. 사태에 심각성을 느낀 템퍼스 수뇌부는 그녀로부터 시작된 이 비생산적인 행위의 실체를 파악하기 위해 위험한 시도를 하기로 결정했다. 그동안 비밀리에 개발해오던 장치, 대재앙 이전으로 돌아가 세계의 패권을 템퍼스 유일 체제로 만들기 위해 개발하고 있던 시간여행기를 사용하기로 결심한 것이다. 아직 실험 단계에 있었지만 그들에게는 망설일 여유가 없었다. 그 행위의 근원을 파악할 수 있다면, 그것을 말끔히없애는방법또한알수있으리라생각한것이다.예전의 위대했던 모습을 되찾아줄 이 막중한 임무를 위해 템퍼스는 가장 이성적이고 냉철한 그를 과거로 보낸다….
