On September 30 and October 1, a workshop with takram design engineering, Tim Parsons, professor of the SAIC Design Department and 20 selected SAIC design students was held in the NEWS FROM NOWHERE: Chicago Laboratory exhibition. The workshop, which studies as well as creates various objects necessary in the future society, will continue until the end of the exhibition, and the objects created by the students will be exhibited alongside the works of the NEWS FROM NOWHERE exhibition. The workshop holds great significance in that it takes place under the concept of Chicago Laboratory in the lab space organized inside the exhibition area and that it is continuously changing and developing as the output becomes part of the exhibition. The workshop, which creates money, weapons and food of the future through various perspectives and imagination, well-reflects the idea of reflective introspection of the present through the future that the NEWS FROM NOWHERE project has pursued until now.

지난 9월 30일과 10월 1일, 뉴스 프럼 노웨어 시카고 레버토리 전시에서 타크람과 SAIC 디자인과 교수인 팀 라슨이 SAIC 디자인 전공의 선발된 학생 20여명과 함께 한 워크샵이 열렸다.
미래 사회에 필요한 여러 물건들을 함께 조사 연구하고 실제 제품을 만들어보는 이번 워크샵은 전시가 끝날때까지 계속해서 진행되어지며, 만들어진 학생들의 작품은 기존의 뉴스 프럼 노웨어 전시작품들과 같이 전시 된다. 무엇보다 시카고 랩이란 개념으로 전시장 안에 구성된 Lab space에서 실제 워크숍이 진행되고, 그 결과가 전시 공간 안으로 들어와 계속 변화되고 발전하는 전시 형태라는 점에서 큰 의의를 형성하고 있다.
미래의 화폐, 무기, 식량들을 다양한 시각과 상상력으로 만들어보는 이번 워크샵은 그동안 뉴스 프럼 노웨어 프로젝트가 지향해오던 미래를 통한 현재의 반성과 성찰이라는 내용이 잘 반영되었다.
