The exhibition celebrating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art inaugurated. Since the establishment of the Samsung Foundation in 1965, Samsung Museum of Art has collected and exhibited art from both Korea and abroad. In 2004, Leeum, with a collection consisting of traditional and contemporary art from Korea and global contemporary art, was established as a full-scale art museum. On the occasion of the anniversary, the museum organized an exhibition around the central theme, “Beyond and Between.” The exhibition was subdivided into different sections – the permanent exhibition space of Korean traditional art (M1) under the theme of “Beyond Time,” the permanent exhibition space of contemporary art (M2) under the theme of “Beyond Space,” and the special exhibition space under the theme of “Beyond Art and People.”
The latest work of Moon Kyungwon and Jeon Joonho produced through the sponsorship of Leeum, q0, was exhibited in the “Beyond Art and People” section in the black box of the special exhibition space alongside actual cultural relics.
“ The work produced for this exhibition, q0, is a video installation portraying a relationship between art and life that transcends time. A component of the work, Decorated Clam Shells, is a rare relic from the United Silla period that belongs to the Leeum’s collection. It is decorated in gold and silver using the pyongtal technique, and depicts a peaceful scene of a pair of deer grazing on clam shells. Moon and Jeon have transformed the creation and history of this relic into a fictional story, generating a narrative about reincarnation that combines past, present, and future. The male and female protagonists in the story play multiple roles, crossing between episodes and portraying various periods and characters. The poetic, visual, and symbolic narratives that unfold from the decorated shells describe aspects of human history that transcend time and context, such as love, desire, belief, and regret. In addition, the actual relic installed on the back of the screen is revealed when the video ends, such that the fictional story overlaps experientially with the present moment.”

삼성미술관 Leeum의 개관 10주년 전시가 오픈하였다. 1965년 삼성문화재단 창립 이래 한국과 외국미술을 소장하고 전시해 온 삼성미술관은 2004년 한국 고미술, 현대미술, 그리고 외국 현대미술을 아우르는 리움을 개관하였고 이 번 10주년을 기념하여한국 고미술 상설 전시실 M1은 '시대교감(時代交感)'을 주제로, 현대미술 상설 전시실 M2에서는 동시대 미술의 동양과 서양간 예술적 교감을 '동서교감(東西交感)'이라는 주제로, 기획전시실에서는 '관객교감(觀客交感)'을 주제로, 미술관 전체를 '교감(交感)'이라는 하나의 주제로 구성하였다.
문경원, 전준호 작가의 신작 q0는 리움 미술관의 제작 지원으로 ‘관객교감’의 섹션에서 기획전시실의 블랙박스에서 실제 유물과 함께 전시되었다.
“이번 전시를 위해 제작된 q0는 시대를 초월하는 삶과 예술의 관계를 그려내는 영상설치 작업이다. 이 작업의 소재가 된 는 리움의 소장품 중 하나로, 대합의 껍데기에 한 쌍의 사슴이 풀을 뜯는 평화로운 모습이 금은평탈기법 으로 장식된 통일신라시대의 희귀한 유물이다. 문경원과 전준호는 이 유물의 탄생과 역사를 가상의 스토리들로 엮어 과거•현재•미래가 혼재된 윤회적 서사를 보여준다. 작품 속 남녀 주인공은 1인다역으로 각 에피소드를 넘나들며 다양한 시대와 인물상을 그려내며, 장식조개를 중심으로 전개되는 시적인 영상과 상징적 내러티브는 시대와 배경을 초월하여 사랑과 욕망, 신념, 후회 등의 인간사를 담아낸다. 더불어 실제 유물은 스크린의 뒷면에 설치되어, 영상이 끝남과 동시에 그 모습을 드러냄으로써 상상의 서사와 현재 시간이 교차되는 경험을 제공한다.”
