The Korean Culture and Arts Committee held a symposium over the Korean Pavilion for the 2015 Venice Biennale at the artist’s home. The symposium was organized by Ki Hye Kyung, head of the Buk-Seoul Museum of Art, and begins with a lecture from Cho Jung-Hwan of the social sciences. The speech will focus on ‘the Birth of the artists,’ and ask the question, ‘in a world where anyone can make demands on the artist, what is the destiny of art and the artist?’ Then, the curator and commissioner of the Korean Palvilion, Soo Kyung Lee, will introduce that art featured at the pavilion, and its characteristics, and then that will be followed by a lecture from the artists, Moon Kyungwon and Jeon Joonho. They will discuss their collaborative piece, The Ways of Folding Space and Flying, background details about the film production process in front of a large audience, and afterwards answer questions from the audience as well as delve into a deep discussion of the work.
베니스 비엔날레 한국관 전시 보고 심포지움
한국문화예술위원회 예술가의 집에서 2015년 베니스 비엔날레 한국관 전시에 대한 심포지움이 열렸다. 북서울미술관 기혜경 운영부장의 사회로 진행된 이 심포지움은 사회 과학자인 조정환의 강연으로 시작되었다. ‘누구나 예술가이기를 요구 받는 시대에 예술과 예술가 그리고 인간의 운명은 무엇인가?’에 대한 내용의 이 강연은 최근 발표 된 그의 저서 ‘예술인간의 탄생’을 중심으로 이루어졌다. 다음으로 이번 한국관 전시 커미셔너인 이숙경 큐레이터로부터 2015년 베니스 비엔날레의 전시 성격과 작품들이 소개 되었고, 이어서 한국관 전시 작가인 문경원과 전준호의 강연이 있었다. 그들의 작품 의 설명과 제작 배경 그리고 그 과정이 공개된 이 자리엔 많은 방청객들이 함께해 강연이 끝나고 난 후 작품에 대해 궁금했던 점들과 발제자들의 강연 내용에 대해 다양한 대화가 이루어졌다.
